The Linen Sash |

| The
sash, which is approximately 2 meters long, has particularly ornate
edges. The dark, wrinkled areas of the cloth suggest that it had been
wrapped around the nobleman’s body. A few tears and, especially,
repairs suggest that it had been worn often before it was deposited
in the tomb.
Sashes were an essential part of the male costume in this period. The more elaborate ones were worn by kings and noblemen.
