The Youth Wing of the Israel Museum is the experimental and educational door to the museum, which adds a smile to the seriousness of the museum experience and develops museum literacy. We, the Youth Wing Team see our role as building bridges between the museum and its many audiences.

We believe the original works in the museum's collections are the focus of interactive activities that combine looking and creating, as we reach out to people of all ages and especially the whole family.

We are a dynamic laboratory for the development of innovative and unique educational programs, the Youth Wing remains attuned to the changing needs of society and strives to make a difference.

Who we are

The Youth Wing team includes, curators, art historians, teachers, and artists

* 100 staff members - 25% of the entire Museum staff

* 3,500 sq. meters - 10% of the museum space

* 300 thousand visitors annually - 40% of all museum visitors

What we do

Hands on minds on annual thematic Exhibitions Family Activities: in our Library specializing in illustrated children's books and the field of museum education, in our Recycling room where workshops using unconventional materials take place and in our Archaeological Tell. Activities for schools and teachers including: Guided Tours that take place throughout the museum galleries, and a Teachers' Training Center. \ Annual Art Classes for children, youth and adults, a Matriculation program in fine art, art theory, and museology, and Fridays in the Museum - a cultural get together. Summer Camps - with a focus on art.
